Role overview

The organization is hiring a Garment Merchandiser who can work closely with both the factory and buyers. This role requires someone attentive, proactive, and comfortable handling the full merchandising cycle, starting from design input and moving through sampling, sourcing, production tracking, quality coordination, and shipment follow-up.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for buyers, manage routine communication, study tech packs, and prepare accurate costing for fabrics and garments based on what the factory can produce.
• Work with the sampling and pattern teams to develop proto samples, size-set samples, and pre-production samples in line with buyer requirements.
• Arrange the purchase of yarn, fabrics, trims, and accessories through the approved vendor base so that all materials reach the factory on time.
• Track the daily Time & Action schedule and coordinate with production supervisors to monitor progress across knitting, dyeing, printing, cutting, and stitching.
• Partner with the internal quality team to remove production issues, maintain product standards, and ensure garments are ready for packing and dispatch.

Experience and qualifications

The preferred candidate should have 2 to 5 years of hands-on merchandising experience in a Tirupur-based knitwear manufacturing environment. A degree or diploma in Apparel Technology, Textile Engineering, Fashion Designing, or a related stream is expected.

Technical and communication skills

The role calls for strong knowledge of knitted fabrics, including GSM, structures, and counts, along with a clear understanding of garment construction, dyeing and printing methods, and end-to-end factory workflows. Strong problem-solving ability, vendor handling skills, and fluent communication in Tamil for production coordination and English for buyer-facing communication are also important.
