Responsibilities

  • Act as the main communications contact for assigned programs and support program planning with proactive communications input
  • Create, maintain, and update communications strategies and plans that reflect program goals, audience needs, funder requirements, and brand standards
  • Advise program teams on messaging, channels, and timing, while helping them build confidence in handling routine communications
  • Plan and deliver campaigns across digital and print media from initial brief through performance review
  • Draft and edit content for newsletters, campaign assets, social media, case studies, website pages, impact stories, outreach materials, and event promotion
  • Oversee social media, e-blast, and website updates for assigned programs
  • Prepare creative briefs for designers and the Content and Media Lead, and coordinate paid advertising with internal and external partners
  • Monitor channel performance and use insights to improve future communications
  • Spot potential media angles, help shape announcements, and support press materials and spokesperson preparation when needed
  • Manage print and design production timelines, vendor coordination, reviews, and final quality checks
  • Ensure materials meet brand, accessibility, funder-recognition, and accuracy requirements
  • Maintain day-to-day vendor relationships and track production costs against program budgets
  • Contribute blog posts, case studies, and impact stories for corporate channels
  • Support corporate communications projects, events, and business development writing as needed
  • Assist with new program launches and organization-wide initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as required

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in communications, marketing, or public engagement
  • Strong ability to write for different audiences and formats
  • Proven experience running campaigns across digital and print channels from planning to results review
  • Comfort using social media, email marketing platforms, analytics, and paid advertising tools
  • Experience handling several programs or client relationships at the same time
  • Confidence advising internal stakeholders and presenting a clear communications perspective
  • Experience working with outside vendors such as design, print, and advertising partners
  • Highly organized and able to manage competing priorities independently
  • Working knowledge of WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva, Asana, CRMs, and DAMs
  • Familiarity with AODA accessibility standards
  • Commitment to environmental sustainability and workplace equity
  • Bilingual English/French is an asset but not mandatory
