SAP PI/PO Developer

Role overview

An experienced SAP PI/PO Developer is needed to support a key migration initiative to S/4HANA along with ongoing PO support. The role requires strong hands-on knowledge of the complete PI/PO flow, including ESR and ID, with the ability to assess existing interface objects and convert them for CPI Integration Suite-based integration.

In addition to core PI/PO work, the position also calls for exposure to modern SAP integration technologies and related BTP services. The developer will help design, build, troubleshoot, and improve integration solutions across SAP and non-SAP landscapes.

Key responsibilities

The role involves creating and supporting end-to-end SAP PI/PO integrations, resolving technical issues, and improving existing solutions using multiple mapping and adapter technologies. The developer will also contribute to interface design, testing, support, and continuous enhancement of integration processes.

Technical scope

Work will include SAP PI/PO interface development using ESR and ID, Java, UDF, XSLT, SOAP, REST, IDOC, EDI, and other adapters. The role also includes designing inbound and outbound integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems, configuring custom iFlows, and handling exception subprocesses and error management.

Additional responsibilities and expectations

The position requires hands-on experience with adapter configuration and troubleshooting, value mapping, message mapping, data transformation, and handling formats such as JSON to XML and CSV to XML. Knowledge of encryption using PGP, along with file compression and decompression, is also expected from an integration standpoint.

The developer should be able to translate business requirements into technical designs, estimate effort, distribute tasks within the team, and work effectively with business users and cross-functional stakeholders. If required, the person may also lead junior developers.

Preferred capabilities

Good-to-have exposure includes CPI, Advanced Event Mesh, ChaRM, CALM, Fiori, and other BTP services. Experience with SAP Cloud Platform Integration, SAP HANA Cloud Integration, and SAP Process Orchestration is also valuable.

Testing and support

The role includes creating test data, executing test cases, preparing and running test scripts, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting applications, and recommending improvements to strengthen stability and efficiency.

Applicants should be graduates and have strong communication skills, stakeholder management ability, and the confidence to collaborate with business and technical teams.
