Role overview
The organisation is seeking a meticulous and proactive Project Scheduler who can manage project timelines, sequencing, and coordination with confidence. The role requires someone who can track progress closely, spot possible delays early, and keep schedules aligned with project goals.
This position is well suited to a team-oriented professional with strong communication skills who can work with cross-functional teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to support timely project delivery.
Key responsibilities
The role covers scheduling support across both pre-contract and post-contract phases, along with ongoing monitoring, control, and reporting.
Work knowledge and technical skills
- Handle project scheduling activities across the full project lifecycle, including both pre-contract and post-contract stages.
- Create, maintain, and update detailed schedules that stay aligned with baseline timelines.
- Build and manage resource-loaded schedules.
- Apply scheduling experience to industrial and manufacturing facility construction projects.
- Work confidently with scheduling software such as MS Project and/or Primavera P6.
- Understand the role of Civil, Structural, and MEP components within project planning.
Pre-contract responsibilities
- Assist in building early-stage project schedules during the planning phase.
- Help define timeframes for design development and procurement tasks.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to set realistic sequences and durations.
- Review timelines shared by contractors and vendors, and identify potential risks.
- Support planning for work packages and procurement schedules, including long-lead items.
Post-contract responsibilities
- Develop detailed execution schedules together with contractors and vendors.
- Review and refresh schedules regularly based on actual project progress.
- Monitor key milestones and highlight delays or schedule slippages.
- Check contractor schedules to ensure they fit the wider project timeline.
- Take part in weekly, fortnightly, and monthly progress meetings to review schedule status.
- Contribute to identifying recovery actions that can help reduce delays.
Monitoring and control
- Compare planned progress against actual progress and call out deviations.
- Support delay analysis and recovery planning.
- Track links and dependencies between work packages.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of schedules at all times.
Documentation and MIS reporting
- Keep project schedules and progress records current.
- Prepare regular reports covering schedule performance, delay analysis, risk alerts, and 2-week or 4-week look-ahead plans.
- Assist with monthly project reporting.
- Record schedule changes, revisions, and version history carefully.
Candidate profile
The preferred candidate will have experience in industrial, manufacturing, or construction projects and will bring strong capability in project scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
Applicants should be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, schedules, and technical documentation, and should understand construction sequencing across Civil and MEP work.
Strong analytical ability, coordination skills, communication skills, and stakeholder management are important. The role also requires the ability to perform effectively under pressure and within tight deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is expected.
Preferred experience
Additional value will be given to candidates with exposure to Pre-Engineered Building projects, scheduling of long-lead industrial equipment, or digital project tools and management platforms.
