Role overview
This position is for an Area Manager in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, responsible for driving territory performance, leading field teams, and strengthening market execution across the assigned area.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver monthly and annual targets for product-wise and value-wise sales across both primary and secondary channels in the assigned territory.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with doctors, retailers, stockists, and other important stakeholders through customer engagement activities that align with company direction.
- Review team and area performance on a regular basis and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create and execute corrective action plans to support consistent business growth.
- Spot capability gaps in the team and arrange suitable training and development interventions.
- Make sure the area follows the company’s credit norms without exception.
- Track receivables and outstanding amounts closely to reduce financial exposure.
- Ensure Medical Executives and Medical Trainees are recruited and onboarded on time, following company standards, so sales activities are not interrupted.
- Supervise field work carried out by Medical Executives and Medical Trainees and ensure daily reports are submitted on schedule.
- Support execution of company plans by coaching and directing team members in the field.
- Collect and share market insights on industry movements, competitor actions, and promotional efforts to support business decisions.
- Address team issues quickly and effectively.
- Escalate unresolved matters to the reporting manager and head office whenever required to avoid operational delays.
Experience required
The role calls for 8 to 10 years of overall work experience, including at least 2 years in a first-line manager position.
Education required
Graduation is required. A postgraduate qualification in Pharmacy is also specified.
