Overview

Denny’s Canada is hiring a cook for its Kamloops, British Columbia location. This is a full-time role based at the work site; the job must be performed in person and cannot be done remotely.

Language

English fluency is required.

Education

A secondary school graduation certificate is required.

Experience

Applicants should have 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Work out portion sizes and the related food costs.
• Design menus and estimate the ingredients needed to prepare them.
• Prepare and cook full meals as well as individual menu items.
• Create suitable dishes for guests with allergies or food intolerances.
• Prepare specialized meals for patients based on direction from a dietitian or chef.
• Help train team members in food preparation, cooking, and safe handling practices.
• Source and order supplies, ingredients, and equipment.
• Oversee kitchen employees and support staff.
• Track inventory and maintain records for food, supplies, and equipment.
• Keep kitchen spaces and work areas clean and organized.
• Support the overall running of kitchen operations.
