About the Company
IOLLA is a Scottish independent eyewear label focused on helping people look and feel their best. The brand designs and sells well-crafted glasses at a single honest price through its showrooms and online channels.
Role Overview
The Creative Assistant sits at the centre of the creative function, helping campaigns, content and projects move forward smoothly. This role is practical, varied and fast-paced, with ownership across a wide mix of creative and marketing activity. You will work with content, campaigns, community activity, events and digital marketing while gaining broad exposure to how a modern brand runs.
This opportunity suits someone aiming to build a career in content, creative marketing, social media, brand, public relations or creative production.
Shoot and Campaign Support
- Build call sheets, mood boards and other campaign-related materials.
- Provide coordination and administrative support across shoots, campaigns and projects so timelines, deliverables and check-ins stay organised.
- Be comfortable appearing on camera when needed.
- Support content capture during shoots and in showrooms, including behind-the-scenes, casual lo-fi content and product-focused material.
Content Capture and Brand Coverage
- Attend launches, showroom events, pop-ups and other brand activities to capture live content; this is a regular, core part of the job rather than an occasional task.
- Spend time in showrooms frequently to gather product, customer and behind-the-scenes content and stay close to how the brand appears in real life.
- Cover events from start to finish on the day, including photography, lo-fi video, behind-the-scenes moments, and guest or customer interactions, ready for the social and wider teams.
- Travel between showroom locations as needed, with some evening and weekend working connected to events and launches.
Content Organisation and Workflow
- Help plan, organise and schedule content across social channels.
- Support community management, including direct messages, comments and customer interactions.
- Keep content libraries, asset folders and file systems maintained so materials are easy to find and use.
- Review content before it goes live to check accuracy, consistency and alignment with the brand.
- Assist with content planning and calendar management across campaigns and projects.
Community, Partnership and Brand Activity
- Upload and manage content across PR and media platforms.
- Research influencers, creators, partners and possible collaboration opportunities.
- Coordinate gifting activity, including logistics, tracking and reporting.
- Support event delivery through guest lists, supplier follow-up, run sheets and on-the-day assistance.
- Compile coverage, influencer content and partnership outcomes.
Research, Trends and Inspiration
- Carry out trend research, competitor reviews and inspiration gathering to support campaigns and brand development.
- Stay close to customers through showroom time, direct messages and campaign feedback, then feed those insights back to the creative team.
Digital Marketing Support
- Assist with proofreading copy, checking links and reviewing emails and web pages for sense and accuracy.
- Carry out routine website maintenance such as banner and imagery updates, basic content and product changes, and broken-link checks.
Candidate Profile
The ideal person has a strong visual eye and can quickly spot quality content and design. You should be highly organised, able to balance several projects at once, and confident working across busy teams with a warm, clear communication style.
You should feel comfortable using social platforms, understand how content performs, and be willing to take a hands-on approach to filming and photography, including phone-based content creation. Curiosity, initiative and a willingness to learn are important, as is an understanding of the IOLLA tone and a customer-first mindset.
Experience with content creation and scheduling tools such as CapCut, Canva and Adobe is useful. An interest in retail, design, fashion or eyewear is also preferred.
Benefits
- Competitive pay, based on experience.
- Complimentary eyewear.
- A generous discount for friends and family.
- Access to the Retail Trust benefits platform.
- Free on-site parking at the headquarters.
- The chance to help shape an ambitious creative brand during an exciting period of change.
Application Requirements
Applicants should submit a CV along with a short 30-45 second video showing on-camera confidence, plus a still piece of content they created that they are especially proud of.
