Digital Platforms & Software Manager

About the Company

Southern Cross Group is an expanding Australian-owned business that delivers facilities-related services such as security, cleaning, traffic management, electronic security, grounds maintenance, and construction. The organisation is making major technology investments and needs a seasoned Digital Platforms & Software Manager to guide its software products, internal systems, and wider digital transformation efforts.

This position will collaborate closely with senior leaders in Australia and will be central to shaping the company’s future technology landscape.

What You Will Do

• Steer the improvement and ongoing development of the company’s proprietary electronic security platform, Secure.
• Own software initiatives from early planning through build, testing, and release.
• Create and maintain integrations across multiple business applications and systems.
• Develop APIs and automate recurring business processes and workflows.
• Build dashboards, reporting layers, and business intelligence tools.
• Spot and deliver technology-driven improvements to operational efficiency.
• Coordinate and manage outside software developers and technical service providers.
• Make sure the company’s systems remain secure, dependable, and able to scale.
• Evaluate, pilot, and implement AI-based solutions across the organisation.
• Help establish and grow an in-house software development team as the business expands.

Skills and Experience Required

• Hands-on experience with Python.
• Strong command of JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience building applications with React or Next.js.
• Familiarity with Node.js or .NET Core (C#).
• Good understanding of REST APIs and system-to-system integrations.
• Working knowledge of SQL databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Experience using Git and GitHub for source control.
• Understanding of application architecture and scalable system design.
• Experience connecting third-party software platforms.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project coordination skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.

Preferred Background

• Experience with AI tools and large language models such as OpenAI or Microsoft Copilot.
• Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform.
• Experience with Power BI.
• Knowledge of access control, CCTV, or electronic security technologies.
• Awareness of cybersecurity best practices.

Education and Eligibility

Applicants should hold a B.Tech or B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering or Computer Science and Business System.
