About the Organisation
IAN Institute of Rehabilitation & Research is a multi-specialty rehabilitation hospital focused on helping children with a wide range of disabilities. The institute brings more than ten years of experience in supporting physical, mental, and neurological recovery for conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, and other genetic, physical, and neurological challenges. Care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team of doctors, therapists, and rehabilitation specialists in a patient-first environment backed by advanced facilities and evidence-based methods.
Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site driving position in Thrissur. The selected candidate will be expected to operate institute vehicles safely for moving patients, caregivers, staff, and materials while following all road safety and traffic rules.
Key Duties
- Transport patients, companions, employees, and necessary materials as required by the institute.
- Plan travel routes efficiently and ensure timely arrival and departure.
- Carry out routine pre-trip checks to confirm the vehicle is fit for use.
- Keep the vehicle clean, tidy, and ready for daily service.
- Coordinate with medical and administrative teams to manage transport schedules.
- Assist passengers politely, including those with mobility or accessibility needs.
- Maintain trip records accurately and report vehicle problems without delay.
- Follow institute procedures along with all applicable traffic and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Hands-on experience driving trucks or other heavy vehicles safely.
- Valid CDL Class A or an equivalent heavy vehicle driving licence with a clean driving history.
- Strong communication ability for coordination with staff and clear interaction with passengers.
- Good customer service manner when supporting children, families, and colleagues.
- Practical knowledge of routes in and around Thrissur.
- Ability to support passengers with special needs during boarding, seating, and exit.
- Basic awareness of vehicle checks such as fuel, tyres, and lights, plus prompt reporting of faults.
- Dependable, punctual, and open to flexible working hours as required.

This role is based at the institute in Thrissur and requires on-site attendance. The work involves handling institute transport duties responsibly and in line with internal policies and procedures.
