About the Role
Roughan O’Donovan (ROD) is seeking a skilled Ecologist with 2-5 years of relevant experience to join our growing environment and ecology team. This permanent position will be based at our Cork office. You will collaborate within an integrated team of ecologists, environmental scientists, planners, and engineers, contributing to a variety of projects including ecological management and monitoring, rail, roads, greenways, buildings, and bridges. Our environment and ecology team is dedicated to providing environmental planning services to clients across Ireland and the UK.
Our Services Include
- Guiding clients through intricate environmental legislation and regulations.
- Developing strategies to mitigate and manage planning risks.
- Supporting consultation and stakeholder engagement processes.

- West Cork Greenway – Skibbereen Sections
- Fáilte Ireland Environmental Monitoring

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will encompass:
- Conducting field surveys.
- Preparing technical reports, including Ecological Impact Assessments and Appropriate Assessments.
- Engaging in consultations with stakeholders and prescribed bodies.
- Supervising the implementation of mitigation measures and ecological enhancements.
