About Guide Dogs Singapore

Guide Dogs Singapore (GDS) is looking for a strong leader to help steer the organisation through its next phase of growth, broader impact and long-term sustainability. For 20 years, the charity has supported people with visual impairments with mobility training, rehabilitation, education and other assistance that helps them live more independently.

This role is a chance to shape the direction of a well-regarded social service organisation, advocate for a more accessible and inclusive society, and create meaningful change for individuals and families across Singapore.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for the organisation’s strategy, day-to-day operations, fundraising efforts, partnerships and people leadership. The role also serves as the public face and chief advocate of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic direction and support the organisation’s growth and long-term sustainability.
  • Lead fundraising initiatives, donor relationships and corporate partnership development.
  • Work closely with government bodies, community groups and other important stakeholders.
  • Maintain high standards in programme execution and beneficiary outcomes.
  • Manage financial performance, governance practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead, support and inspire staff and volunteers.
  • Promote accessibility, inclusion and wider awareness for people with visual impairments.

About You

The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly regarded leader with senior-level experience in nonprofit, social service, healthcare, education or similar fields. You should bring a strong record in fundraising, stakeholder engagement and partnership building, along with sound business judgment and financial management capability.

You will also need excellent communication and relationship-building skills, experience working with boards and governance frameworks, and a collaborative leadership style grounded in social purpose.

Most importantly, you should believe in helping every person live independently, take part fully in society and reach their potential.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Lead one of Singapore’s most respected organisations serving people with disabilities.
  • Create lasting impact for people with visual impairments and their families.
  • Collaborate with a committed Board, passionate employees and dedicated volunteers.
  • Build partnerships that drive positive change in the community.
  • Contribute to a legacy of inclusion, empowerment and independence.

Compensation

A competitive salary package will be provided, aligned with NSCC salary guidelines and based on the selected candidate’s background, experience and qualifications.

Application Details

Interested candidates should send their application to christine.lee@guidedogs.org.sg.
