Job Purpose
The primary objective of this role is to oversee and execute the finalization of financial statements for Vodafone Idea Limited and its subsidiaries.
Key Result Areas/Accountabilities
- Analyze accounting standards and transactions to provide input for establishing necessary accounting guidelines.
- Offer business partnering and support to various departments.
- Manage financial reporting and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Finalize periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual) in accordance with Ind AS, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and IFRS.
- Review quarterly financial results for Vodafone Idea Limited (standalone and consolidated) to ensure compliance with IND AS and listing agreements.
- Present periodic financial statements and results after thorough review.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of the Cash Flow statement.
- Compile and review necessary information for group companies.
- Reconcile profits and net assets according to Ind AS and IFRS.
- Prepare periodic reports for promoter companies as required.
- Standardize accounting policies and practices across all operational circles and business units.
- Review the chart of accounts and address any discrepancies.
- Continuously analyze changes in reporting requirements, assess their impact on the company, its subsidiaries, joint ventures, and associates, brief top management, and implement changes in consultation with them.
- Liaise with statutory auditors to facilitate smooth quarterly and annual audits.
- Review and assess critical contracts from an accounting and compliance standpoint.
- Contribute to and actively participate in ERP integration projects.
- Benchmark accounting policies and disclosures against industry peers.
Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience
- Possess in-depth knowledge of consolidation and reporting processes.
- Understand compliance requirements related to listing agreements.
- Demonstrate technical expertise in Ind AS and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Familiarity with the Companies Act.
- Exhibit strong planning and organizing skills to effectively manage competing priorities.
- Show excellent stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
- Possess strong communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrate effective people leadership, including talent management and team development to maximize capabilities.
Must Have Technical/Professional Qualifications
Chartered Accountant qualification is mandatory. Good working knowledge of MS Office, SAP, and Hyperion is required.
Years of Experience
A minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in Financial Reporting is necessary.
