Housekeeper

About the role

Homestead Healthcare is hiring a Housekeeper for a senior living community in Canton, MI. This role is a key part of the care environment, helping keep residents’ homes clean, safe, and comfortable. The position calls for someone who can work cheerfully, stay organized, and support a positive atmosphere for residents and the wider care team.

This is a full-time, on-site position. Experience in a memory care setting is a plus.

Key responsibilities

• Clean residents’ apartments and private spaces, including mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and bathroom cleaning.
• Work smoothly and respectfully with residents, coworkers, and family members.
• Keep cleaning chemicals away from residents’ areas at all times.
• Use supplies and equipment carefully and efficiently.
• Show dignity and respect in all interactions with residents.
• Help maintain resident safety by reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.
• Take on other tasks as directed by the supervisor or executive director.

Requirements

• Must be able to clear a criminal background check.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is necessary.
• Prior residential cleaning experience is preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team is important.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and set priorities effectively.
• A positive attitude and consistent punctuality are expected.
