Role overview

Acquire Strategic Accounting is a professional accounting practice originally based in Morningside, Queensland and moving to Victoria Point, Queensland. The firm supports a broad mix of clients, including companies, trusts, partnerships, self-managed super funds, and individual taxpayers.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Brisbane City. The role centres on day-to-day accounting and compliance work, including the preparation of financial statements and tax returns, performing reconciliations and journal entries, lodging BAS and GST, and assisting with both month-end and year-end close activities across a varied client base.

What the role involves

• Preparing financial statements for a range of entities and clients.
• Completing tax return work across companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs, and individuals.
• Handling reconciliations and journal postings accurately.
• Preparing and lodging BAS and GST.
• Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Working with a diverse portfolio of clients and compliance requirements.

Ideal background

• Between 2 and 4 years of accounting experience, ideally gained in public practice.
• Hands-on experience with accounts and tax for companies, trusts, partnerships, SMSFs, and individuals.
• Sound knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance obligations.
• Practical experience using Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and Excel.
• Good written and verbal communication, strong organisation, and careful attention to detail.
• An Accounting or Finance degree is expected, and CA/CPA study progress is considered an advantage.
