Junior Quantity Surveyor

Role overview

An established civil contractor in Ireland is expanding its team and is hiring a Junior Quantity Surveyor for major civil infrastructure work in Dublin. The position will involve exposure to both residential developments and large civil infrastructure projects.

Key duties

• Handle subcontractor and supplier procurement, appointments, and ongoing commercial management right through to final account closeout.
• Prepare precise progress accounts and keep them up to date.
• Carry out interim and final valuation preparation and review for progress payment purposes.
• Track project expenditure and produce cost reports.
• Work with project teams to spot potential risks early and reduce the chance of cost overruns.
• Support the pre-construction team with tender preparation and delivery.
• Keep current with changes in construction methods, regulations, and wider industry developments.

Candidate profile

• A bachelor’s qualification in Quantity Surveying is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in quantity surveying in the civil engineering sector, or experience gained through a college placement or internship.
• Good understanding of construction contracts, commercial control, and procurement workflows.
• Hands-on knowledge of NEC contracts is essential.
• Working knowledge of COINS, Primavera P6, MS Project, and the Microsoft Office suite is required.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Confident communication and negotiation skills.
• Comfortable working independently as well as within a wider team.

Compensation and benefits

• Salary range of €40,000 to €50,000, negotiable depending on experience.
