Maintenance Technician - Elevators & Escalators

About the Role

KONE is expanding across the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa, and is hiring Maintenance Technicians who bring a strong service mindset. In this position, you will help keep elevator and escalator equipment safe, reliable, and efficient while maintaining regular, proactive communication with customers and end users. The role involves planned maintenance work as well as responding to call-outs and supporting equipment performance through disciplined on-site service.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for delivering customer satisfaction through timely and clear communication, accurate reporting, and consistent service quality. Your work will include maintenance visits, troubleshooting, identifying risks, and ensuring that safety and process standards are followed at all times.

Customer Relationship Management

• Maintain customer satisfaction by providing quality service and keeping communication on-site clear, timely, and accurate, including callout ETAs and job updates.
• Record work completed accurately and in real time at the equipment level.
• Take ownership of equipment safety and operational performance.
• Spot site-related risks and report them promptly to your supervisor.
• Act immediately when a high-risk issue is found and follow the required escalation process.
• Identify service repairs that are not part of the planned schedule when equipment needs require them.

Service Operations

• Prioritize the safety of end users and everyone on site.
• Carry out work safely and in line with maintenance and safety instructions.
• Complete planned maintenance, callouts, and service repairs within the scheduled time, quality expectations, and process requirements.
• Highlight potential sales opportunities to your supervisor.
• Submit accurate and timely reports of completed work according to company procedures.
• Fill and submit timesheets based on the work executed.
• Keep tools, van, instruments, and related equipment secure, well maintained, and in good working condition.
• Keep your supervisor informed with regular updates and relevant field information.

Requirements

• ITI, vocational certificate, diploma, or equivalent engineering qualification in Electrical, Electronics, or Automation streams.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Basic IT knowledge will be an advantage.
• Basic digital skills are preferred for this role.
• At least 5 years of hands-on preventive maintenance and troubleshooting experience with a recognized elevator company.
• A valid GCC driving license will be an added benefit.
