This position sits within KPMG’s Technology Advisory practice, where the emphasis is on combining the right technology choices with sound implementation and ongoing innovation to create meaningful outcomes for businesses and government. The role is intended for early-career professionals looking to build a consulting career in technology advisory, including candidates from both IT and business disciplines who understand how technology, data, and AI can solve complex organisational challenges.
The team focuses on consulting work across technology domains rather than software engineering. Typical areas include technology, data and AI strategy, enterprise and domain architecture, technology operating model design and implementation, business case development, and technology transformation program design and delivery.
Key responsibilities
As a Manager in Technology Advisory, you will lead advisory engagements, support and develop team members, and help clients translate complex issues into practical solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, including technical and sector specialists, to deliver integrated advice and outcomes.
What you will do
- Direct the delivery of technology, data, and AI advisory work while maintaining strong quality standards and client satisfaction.
- Guide and coach consultants and senior consultants, providing hands-on support and team leadership.
- Run client workshops, carry out analysis, and communicate findings and recommendations to senior decision-makers.
- Develop trusted client relationships by helping identify the underlying causes of business issues, assess options, and support the achievement of business value.
- Manage pursuit activity, including opportunity identification, lead qualification, planning, and proposal development.
- Work with sector specialists, technical experts, and global colleagues to shape and deliver joined-up solutions.

Experience and capability requirements
- Experience influencing and communicating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, from analysts through to senior executives, preferably in a government consulting environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capability to manage and deliver all phases of a consulting engagement.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, goal-oriented environment while balancing multiple priorities and collaborating effectively with others.
- Demonstrated experience leading analysis and delivering work in one or more of the following areas: strategy development, enterprise or domain architecture, infrastructure such as hybrid cloud or sourcing, operating model design and implementation, IT business cases, or technology/digital transformation program design and delivery.
- Experience in public sector technology consulting is highly desirable; alternatively, candidates should be able to show a strong background in major technology transformation initiatives along with internal consulting experience.
