Mechanical Engineer – Supervision

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to oversee and supervise mechanical construction activities on-site. This role involves ensuring the quality and timely completion of HVAC, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, and Medical Gas systems, adhering to design specifications and industry standards. The successful candidate will manage site operations, coordinate with various teams, and contribute to the successful handover of projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide daily oversight for mechanical installations, including HVAC, Fire Fighting, Plumbing, and Medical Gas systems.
• Examine and approve shop drawings, verifying their alignment with approved design documents.
• Review and endorse material submissions, confirming adherence to project specifications and relevant codes.
• Track project advancement, generating daily and weekly progress reports that detail percentages completed and site observations.
• Execute and document various quality assurance tests, such as Pressure Tests, Flushing & Cleaning, Air Balancing, and Fire Fighting Testing (Hydrostatic Test, Flow Test).
• Collaborate effectively with other engineering disciplines (Electrical, Civil, Architectural) to prevent scheduling and execution conflicts.
• Direct and mentor site technicians to ensure work is performed according to standards.
• Verify quantities against the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and monitor actual work completed.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols by monitoring contractor compliance with HSE procedures.
• Attend site meetings and document technical discussions and decisions.
• Inspect finished work, compile punch lists, and oversee the resolution of identified deficiencies.
• Support commissioning processes and confirm system readiness for project handover.

Qualifications and Experience

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution or an equivalent qualification.
• Possess a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project supervision, specifically within mechanical systems.
• Demonstrate a strong command of industry codes and standards, including ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, and IPC.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and utilizing relevant software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office.
• Proven experience in managing contractors and leading site supervision teams.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
