Role overview
Swan Global is hiring a Pharmaceutical Associate in Doha, Qatar for an on-site contract role. The position calls for 2 to 3 years of hands-on pharmaceutical experience and focuses on medication-related insurance workflows, pharmacy claims handling, and formulary support.
What you will do
- Check pharmacy insurance claims to confirm they are accurate and aligned with policy terms.
- Handle medication pre-authorization requests and approval steps.
- Liaise with pharmacies, hospitals, and physicians on prescribed medicines.
- Assess formulary coverage and suggest suitable alternative medicines when needed.
- Compare prescriptions against insurance plan benefits and exclusions.
- Investigate and fix rejected claims and related mismatches.
- Assist in fraud monitoring by spotting unusual medication claim patterns.
- Update and maintain pharmacy and medication records with clinical teams.
- Compile reports on pharmacy usage and cost trends.
- Follow MoPH requirements and Qatar health insurance regulations.
Required profile
- A B.Pharm or Pharm.D. degree is required.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical field is needed.
- Solid understanding of pharmacy products and day-to-day pharmacy operations.
- Working knowledge of health insurance claims and pharmacy benefit management.
- Familiarity with pharmacy information systems.
- Strong analytical ability, communication skills, and documentation accuracy.
- Holding a Qatar pharmacist license, or being eligible for it, will be an added advantage.
Contract details
This is a 6-month contract assignment.
