Policy Consultant

Role Overview

This contract Policy Consultant role is a remote position based in the United States. The work involves handling policy, legal, regulatory, and research-focused documents, along with advising on strategy and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine, prepare, and update policy papers, legal agreements, proposals, and research materials with strong command over Word and PDF tools.
• Offer practical guidance and well-reasoned recommendations on matters related to regulation, law, healthcare, academia, or finance.
• Carry out detailed reviews of documents to improve compliance, readability, and alignment with accepted professional standards.
• Assist with formatting, tracked edits, form completion, and pulling data from documents accurately.
• Work with different teams to turn complicated information into clear policies and standard procedures.
• Keep up with changes in rules, regulations, and sector-specific guidance relevant to the work.
• Present conclusions and suggestions clearly in both written and spoken communication.

Candidate Profile

• Applicants should have at least 3 years of professional experience in government policy operations.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Word and PDF software is essential, including document review, formatting, tracked changes, and data extraction.
• Excellent communication ability is needed for polished professional interaction in writing and speaking.
• Experience in drafting, interpreting, and assessing complex policy or regulatory content is expected.
• The role requires the capacity to juggle multiple assignments and consistently meet tight deadlines in a remote, fast-moving setting.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality output are important.

Preferred Experience

• Prior exposure to Fortune 500 clients or significant regulatory, legal, or policy assignments is advantageous.
• Experience collaborating with teams from multiple disciplines to deliver meaningful results is a plus.

Compensation

Pay is offered at an hourly rate of $20 to $58.
