About the Company
DBS Packaging Private Limited is an established packaging business with around ten years of industry experience. The company produces and supplies a broad mix of packaging solutions for sectors such as FMCG, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, textiles, retail, and eCommerce. Its product portfolio includes corrugated boxes, fancy boxes, printed boxes, ice cream boxes, pizza boxes, chocolate boxes, and related packaging formats.
Role Overview
This position is for a Quality Control Manager based in Sanaswadi, Pune, reporting to the Plant Head. The role is suited to a BE Mechanical professional with relevant exposure to corrugated box manufacturing. The selected candidate is expected to join within 15 days.
Quality Management System Leadership
The manager will be responsible for building, running, and continuously strengthening the organization’s Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001:2015. The role includes leading both internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance, and promoting quality awareness across the workforce through training and guidance.
Quality Control and Assurance
This role covers quality checks across the complete production cycle, starting from incoming raw materials and extending through in-process controls to final product approval. The manager will monitor the inspection of materials such as kraft paper, starch, and adhesives, define testing standards for production stages, and ensure the finished corrugated boxes meet customer and technical requirements, including bursting strength, edge crush test, and box compression test. The role also includes supervising the upkeep and calibration of quality testing instruments.
Customer and Supplier Coordination
The selected professional will act as the main contact for quality-related customer concerns and feedback. They will investigate root causes for defects or complaints, implement corrective and preventive actions, and collaborate with procurement to assess and approve suppliers on quality performance. Regular reviews with important customers are also part of the role to maintain alignment on expectations and satisfaction.
Continuous Improvement
A key part of the job is reducing rejection levels so that each process stays below the defined benchmark. The manager will lead improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing or similar methods, study quality trends, and create action plans to cut defects and improve efficiency. They will also prepare periodic quality reports for senior leadership.
Team Leadership
The role includes supervising, coaching, and developing a team of quality inspectors and technicians. Responsibilities extend to training the team on testing methods, quality procedures, and safety practices, as well as conducting performance evaluations and setting clear goals.
