Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary

This role is focused on keeping project costs under tight control by checking measurements, validating subcontractor payments, assessing BOQ quantities, handling variations, reviewing procurement comparisons, and producing clear commercial reports to safeguard the project budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Take off and confirm physical quantities from drawings and site progress, then close out measurements accurately.
• Review monthly subcontractor invoices, compare them with completed work, and certify payments where milestones have been achieved.
• Assist procurement by preparing detailed commercial comparison sheets for vendor and package evaluation.
• Track variations, change instructions, and contractual claims, and assess their commercial impact.
• Maintain an up-to-date budget register and monitor projected final cost and cost-to-complete figures.
• Prepare monthly cost reports for internal management reviews.
• Work with the finance team to support cash flow planning and payment scheduling.

Experience and Skills

The ideal candidate should bring 5 to 8 years of quantity surveying experience in the UAE within building construction. Prior experience as a main contractor site QS on high-rise projects is required. Strong BOQ measurement capability, solid knowledge of measurement methods, and the ability to manage contract variations are important. The role also calls for accurate number handling, sound commercial judgment, negotiation ability, and strong proficiency with cost reporting and contract administration tools.
