Role Overview

Join GardaWorld’s Security Services team in Ottawa, Ontario as a Retail Security Guard. In this role, you’ll rely on sharp observation, sound judgment, and strong interpersonal skills to identify risks early and respond appropriately. Since the position involves continual movement throughout the shift, stamina and the ability to stay on your feet are important.

Key Duties

• Walk assigned retail areas to detect unusual or suspicious behaviour
• Verify identification and manage entry to restricted spaces
• Respond promptly to incidents and record the actions taken
• Inspect alarm systems and camera equipment to ensure proper operation
• Attend alarm calls and carry out on-site verification
• Work alongside police or other authorities when serious situations arise

Qualifications

• Must be legally allowed to work in Canada
• Active security licence required
• First aid certification required
• Valid G Class/Classe 5 driver’s licence required
• Ability to remain standing and walking for the full shift
• Ability to prepare brief, clear written reports
• Must be able to complete in-house Use-of-Force certification
