Where you'll work

직무 설명

Role overview

An innovative technology company in Dublin is seeking a seasoned Computer Vision Engineer to join its expanding engineering team. The organisation builds advanced sensor-based solutions that help road authorities, infrastructure managers, and mobility stakeholders evaluate how ready road networks are for driver-assistance systems, semi-autonomous driving, and fully autonomous vehicles.

The business develops integrated software, hardware, optics, and illumination technologies that are changing the way road infrastructure is measured, analysed, and maintained. With continued growth across Europe and the United States, this role offers the chance to make a direct impact on product direction, customer outcomes, and future technical strategy.

What you'll be doing

In this senior position, you will help research, refine, optimise, and deploy computer vision algorithms used for road asset measurement and infrastructure assessment. You will work across disciplines with engineering colleagues to support both current product delivery and future technology initiatives.

  • Track new developments in computer vision, research methods, and industry trends, and assess their practical value.
  • Design, build, test, benchmark, and document advanced vision algorithms for road network asset measurement use cases.
  • Investigate software defects, resolve technical issues, and contribute to improvements in system design and architecture where needed.
  • Take part in technical and design review sessions with algorithm and engineering teams.
  • Support intellectual property work, including invention write-ups and patent-related documentation.
  • Create algorithms with deployment constraints in mind for embedded and edge-computing environments.
  • Spot opportunities for new products, improved algorithms, and additional commercial applications.
  • Work in line with internal procedures, quality expectations, and engineering standards.
  • Represent the company at conferences, forums, working groups, and similar technical events when required.
  • Help create and deliver internal technical training in your area of expertise.
  • Build productive relationships with universities, research bodies, and academic partners.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in computer vision methods, software engineering practices, and internal processes.
  • Communicate technical ideas clearly with internal teams and outside stakeholders.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the current platform, source code, and technology stack, and proactively suggest improvements.
  • Assess and recommend AI and machine learning tools or techniques that can improve products and development workflows.

Experience and skills needed

The employer is looking for a highly experienced professional with a background in computer vision, image processing, computer science, electronic engineering, or a closely related area.

  • A bachelor's degree plus at least 8 years of relevant industry experience, or a master's degree plus at least 4 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong practical knowledge of computer vision concepts and algorithms used in real-world settings; experience in road infrastructure, transportation, mapping, surveying, robotics, or autonomous systems is especially valuable.
  • Advanced C++ development ability with attention to speed, reliability, maintainability, and clean coding practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Python and/or MATLAB for prototyping, testing, automation, and data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of computer vision libraries such as OpenCV.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle practices, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience using source control, participating in code reviews, working with CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating in modern development environments.
  • Understanding of AI, machine learning, and deep learning methods relevant to vision-based systems.
  • Strong ability to produce technical documentation and communicate clearly.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Capability to work independently while also contributing effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and close attention to detail.
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence.

Preferred experience

  • Exposure to embedded vision systems and edge AI deployment.
  • Experience with 3D vision, photogrammetry, LiDAR, or sensor fusion.
  • Background in road infrastructure assessment, transport technology, or autonomous vehicle applications.
  • GPU programming and optimisation experience.
  • Involvement in patents, research papers, or innovative product development.

What’s on offer

  • The chance to work on advanced technologies that support connected and autonomous mobility.
  • A collaborative environment with a highly skilled engineering team.
  • Real influence over product innovation and technical direction.
  • Exposure to international customers and projects.
  • Strong career growth potential within a fast-growing technology business.
  • Permanent on-site role in Dublin South, D6.
  • Flexible working hours with base hours in place.
  • Salary is negotiable based on experience.
  • Benefits include bonus eligibility, employer pension, health insurance after 12 months, flexitime, and free sandwiches/coffee, along with other benefits.

Eligibility
