Role overview
We are hiring a Test & Run Operative to inspect, test, and prepare equipment before it goes out on hire. The role focuses on making sure machines are safe, reliable, and ready for customers, while also supporting yard operations and delivering a high standard of service.
Key duties
- Carry out detailed testing and inspection checks on equipment to confirm safety and performance standards are met.
- Complete routine servicing, minor repairs, fault-finding, and corrective work to keep machinery in good operating condition.
- Record all inspection results, maintenance work, and repairs accurately, ensuring paperwork is complete and aligned with relevant regulations.
- Confirm that all equipment complies with required safety rules and standards.
- Support day-to-day yard work, including helping with loading and unloading machinery when needed.
What we are looking for
- A solid grasp of machinery and equipment, along with practical troubleshooting ability.
- Strong focus on accuracy and detail.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to see tasks through properly.
- Confidence working independently as well as collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Forklift truck experience and/or experience operating scissor lifts and boom lifts would be an advantage.
- Driving experience is required.

Working hours
The working pattern is Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 5:00pm and Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm, totalling 41.5 hours each week.

Pay
Salary is dependent on experience.
