Tooling Technician

Role overview

This position is for a Tooling Technician based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role focuses on supporting production by keeping tooling assets in working order and aligned with customer and manufacturing needs. The reference code for the position is JPC - 6018.

Core duties

• Maintain and continuously improve tooling jigs, fixtures, composite tooling, and CNC fixtures so they remain fit for production and customer specifications.
• Work with production objectives in mind to help the business meet its operational targets.

Technical knowledge and hands-on work

• Apply practical knowledge of composite materials such as carbon fiber and fiberglass.
• Understand common metal types including aluminium, titanium, and steel.
• Use precision measuring instruments like micrometres, callipers, and height gauges.
• Inspect composite tooling issues, assess defects, and carry out suitable repairs.
• Interpret customer drawings, technical procedures, and related engineering documents accurately.
• Set up and run metalworking equipment including saws, drills, lathes, vertical milling machines, belt and disk sanders, grinders, and welding tools.
• Operate efficiently in an environment with demanding production schedules and tight output targets.

Role requirements

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience is required.
• A bachelor’s degree is needed for this role.
• Strong command of English is essential.
