Role overview
Nua Healthcare Services is a major Irish care provider delivering residential, supported living, day service, and community outreach support for children and adults with complex needs. This position is based in Allenwood, County Kildare, Ireland, and is paid in line with the company salary scale.

What the role involves
The Assistant Support Worker will provide hands-on care and person-centred support to service users. The role includes helping individuals develop independence, strengthen daily living skills, and engage meaningfully in their communities. Training and ongoing development will be provided to help build the required capability for the post.
Daily duties
- Help people plan and structure everyday routines and activities.
- Support participation in local community activities and outings.
- Assist with education, learning, and personal development goals.
- Encourage independent living skills such as meal preparation, household cleaning, laundry, appointments, and family or social connections.
- Work in line with company policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and relevant codes of practice.
- Adapt to flexible shift arrangements within a 24/7 service model.
- Carry out additional duties that are reasonably connected to the post.
Shift pattern and working arrangement
This is a shift-based position operating across a 7-day roster, with work scheduled over a 24-hour service to meet service-user needs. Flexibility is required.

Requirements
- No formal qualification is needed, as full training and development are provided.
- Experience in a support role is helpful but not essential.
- Relevant life experience may be considered an advantage.
- A proactive, positive attitude and a genuine commitment to helping people live independently are important.
- Good communication and people skills are needed to work effectively with service users, families, colleagues, and other professionals.
