ജോലി വിവരണം
Role overview
This position sits within Adani Power Limited, part of a major diversified infrastructure group in India. The organisation operates large-scale logistics and utility assets across the country and is known for benchmarked operations and maintenance practices. Adani Power is a leading private thermal power producer with generation assets across multiple states and a solar project in Gujarat.
The purpose of this role is to oversee and operate key plant systems, including the boiler, turbine, generator, balance-of-plant equipment, switchyard, and transformer areas so that performance remains stable and efficient. The role also includes managing flue gas desulfurization activities, supporting equipment reliability, encouraging energy savings, and maintaining compliance with environmental requirements.
Operational control and monitoring
Daily work involves tracking the performance of boiler, turbine, generator, BOP, and electrical systems to keep the plant running effectively. The role requires carrying out start-up and shut-down sequences when needed, keeping a close watch on operating parameters, and reacting quickly to any abnormal readings. It also includes regular equipment changeovers and testing emergency drives.
Emergency handling and equipment coordination
The incumbent is expected to respond to operational emergencies involving the BTG system, as well as issues in the switchyard and grid that may affect plant continuity. Safe isolation and restoration of equipment are essential parts of the job. The role also includes managing FGD operations, monitoring related system values, and keeping plant parameter logbooks accurate and current.
Energy efficiency and environmental compliance
A key part of the role is improving plant efficiency through focused attention on specific oil consumption, auxiliary power consumption, DM water usage, and heat rate. The job also calls for monitoring important chemistry parameters, supporting emission control efforts, and ensuring that FGD systems are operated in line with environmental regulations.
Safety, systems, and governance
The position requires strict compliance with IMS, AWMS, DISHA, and CHETNA practices within the department. Personal and equipment safety must be protected through training, discipline, and adherence to safety procedures. Work must follow Permit to Work requirements and standard operating procedures, and any plant defects or operational issues should be reported promptly to the shift in charge.
Digitisation and improvement initiatives
The role also contributes to digital and automation initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency. It involves supporting automation solutions, process enhancements, and the adoption of newer technologies and practical innovative ideas that align with organisational goals.
Stakeholders
Internal coordination is primarily with maintenance engineers. No external stakeholder list has been specified.
Qualifications and experience
A BE/B.Tech degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline from a recognised institution is required. Candidates should have at least 9 years of experience in power plant operations, preferably in thermal power generation.
