ജോലി വിവരണം
Overview
This project-based opportunity pairs subject-matter experts with AI evaluation work for major technology clients. The work focuses on building, testing, and refining AI systems, and it is not a permanent employment role.
Location for this opportunity is Germany. Candidates are asked to submit a CV in English and mention their English proficiency level.
What the work involves
You will create computational biology challenges that can be checked by code and that depend on a specialized scientific tool. Suitable tools may include NEURON, Brian2, OpenSim, AMICI, MNE-Python, or similar packages. Broad data handling tasks around a genome browser are not considered sufficient.
Each challenge runs in a locked Linux environment with the required tool already installed, and a programmatic grader evaluates the model’s response.
Key responsibilities
As a task author, you are expected to choose an anchor tool and build a problem that relies on its biophysical, biomechanical, differential-equation, or sequence-algorithm capabilities. You will also create a Python-based reference solution, prepare any required input files and model or network definitions, define the correct numeric answer, and set an appropriate tolerance for judging correctness.
You will then run repeated batches of attempts to measure task difficulty and adjust the challenge until the model succeeds only occasionally. After calibration, the task is reviewed by a senior specialist in the relevant subfield for quality assurance.
Calibration and working style
Task calibration is expected to take patience and iteration. You may need to refine channel kinetics, adjust stimulation protocols, tighten solver tolerances, and observe how the model behaves under different conditions. This process helps improve both the task and your understanding of how frontier AI handles complex biology simulations.
What we are looking for
This role suits biology professionals with Python experience who are open to part-time, non-permanent project work. The ideal contributor has a degree in Biology or a related discipline, at least 2 years of research, applied, or teaching experience, and the ability to write Python reference solutions.
You should be comfortable working with, or willing to independently learn, at least one scriptable computational biology package such as NEURON, Brian2, NEST, OpenSim, AMICI, libroadrunner, MNE-Python, or Biopython. You also need the ability to design problems that truly require a specialized solver and strong written English at C1 level or above.
Even if you have not used the named tools before, you may still apply if you are prepared to learn independently and start quickly.
How the project works
The typical flow is: apply, complete qualification step(s), join a project, complete tasks, and receive payment.
Time commitment
During active phases, the expected workload is approximately 10 to 20 hours per week. This is only an estimate and is not guaranteed; it applies only while the project is active.
Compensation
Contributors can earn up to the equivalent of 45 USD per hour, depending on expertise and pace of work.
Pay levels may differ across projects based on scope, complexity, and the level of expertise needed.
Application note
Please provide your CV in English and state your English proficiency level.
