Role overview
This is an on-site cleaning position at HMP Birmingham, supporting a secure prison environment through dependable housekeeping and cleaning duties. The post is offered by Amey in partnership with its justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), helping maintain safe, clean and efficient facilities across the estate.
The working pattern is 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The annual salary for this position is £27,426.
Key duties
- Deliver cleaning services that meet the requirements of the contract.
- Keep stock at the right level and place orders for cleaning consumables when needed.
- Use equipment and machinery safely, following the training and guidance provided.
- Maintain a consistently high standard of service for building users and support overall customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to local and wider net-zero initiatives by supporting carbon-reduction activity where appropriate.
- Help ensure health and safety standards are consistently met across the contract.

Security and clearance
