Finance Lead

Role overview

We are hiring a Business Controller / Finance Lead for a German legal entity based in Frankfurt, within a global business focused on innovative food packaging and onboard service solutions for a major hospitality group. The position carries full ownership of finance activities and combines practical accounting work with business partnering.

You will report to the Global CFO and work closely with local management. In this role, you will turn financial information into actionable insights, support operational and strategic decisions, and contribute to stronger performance and long-term growth.

Location: Frankfurt, Germany
Salary: EUR 75,000 to EUR 85,000
Languages required: Fluent German and English

Key responsibilities

• Run monthly and annual closing activities and ensure reporting is accurate and delivered on time in SAP.
• Prepare financial results and present them to both local leadership and group-level stakeholders.
• Support operational teams as a finance partner by spotting process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
• Take charge of budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing performance monitoring.
• Strengthen finance processes, internal controls, and reporting practices.
• Manage the audit process and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
• Ensure adherence to German GAAP, IFRS, VAT, and tax requirements.
• Work with shared service centres and group finance counterparts across the organisation.
• Guide, support, and develop the local finance team.

Requirements

• Proven background in accounting and controlling.
• Good knowledge of the full accounting cycle and financial reporting.
• Practical understanding of German GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience in an international or group structure is advantageous.
• Strong analytical thinking with a hands-on work style.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities confidently.
• Prior experience leading or supervising a team.
• Fluent spoken and written German and English.
