Role summary

This is a full-time remote position for an Interior Designer at Studio Ridge Residential. The selected candidate will work with clients and project teams to develop concepts that respond to the project brief, site conditions, and practical needs. The position includes space planning, creation and refinement of interior layouts, and preparation of presentation materials such as mood boards and palette boards. You will also contribute to construction drawings, interior detailing, and FF&E specifications, with particular attention to wood, heavy timber, and mass timber applications where applicable. In addition, the role supports sourcing, vendor coordination, and documentation of furnishings, art, and accessories for turnkey delivery, while keeping schedules on track and taking part in virtual meetings with clients and consultants.

Key responsibilities

Develop interior design concepts that align with project objectives, context, and functional requirements.
Create and improve space plans and interior layouts for different project types.
Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and visual material palettes.
Produce and coordinate construction drawings, interior details, and specification packages.
Specify finishes, fixtures, equipment, and FF&E items, including furnishings, lighting, art, and accessories.
Support sourcing activities and communicate with vendors as part of project delivery.
Document furnishing and styling selections for turnkey installations.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, clients, and internal teams in a remote environment.
Track project timelines, provide updates, and contribute to meeting deadlines.
Participate in virtual client and consultant discussions as needed.

Qualifications and requirements

Demonstrated strength in interior design, including concept creation, material selection, and detailed design work for residential and hospitality projects.
Solid space planning ability to produce efficient, functional, and visually coherent layouts.
Experience collaborating on architecture and interior architecture projects with external consultants and build teams.
Capability to create accurate construction drawings, interior details, and construction-ready specifications.
Understanding of FF&E selection, sourcing, and documentation across multiple categories.
Working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools; Adobe Creative Suite is an advantage.
Strong presentation and visual communication skills, including layout boards, mood boards, and sketching.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills suited to remote collaboration.
Good organization and time management, with the ability to handle several projects and deadlines at once.
Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related discipline; prior experience in residential or hospitality design is preferred.
