Role Overview
The Inventory Control Coordinator partners closely with the department supervisor or manager to oversee the receiving and stockroom functions. The goal of the role is to keep inventory records accurate and support on-time manufacturing and customer commitments. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the receiving and stockroom areas.
- Plan daily workload schedules and set targets for each shift or area.
- Maintain Excel-based schedules and help ensure kits are delivered to production on time and with quality.
- Encourage teamwork, contribute to a positive working environment, and support process improvements.
- Keep work areas clean, safe, orderly, and free of clutter, while ensuring equipment remains in good working condition.
- Coordinate with other departments to meet delivery timelines and participate in NPI meetings.
- Handle inventory reconciliation, material picking, put-away, cycle counts, inventory system transactions, and receiving tasks.
- Maintain accurate physical stock records by tracking cycle counts and material movements.
- Operate and support the materials control system in compliance with Class A MRP, ISO 9001/13485, GMP, and ITAR audit expectations in a Lean environment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with production teams, support groups, and customers.
- Help implement processes, organization, resources, training, and management controls needed to meet business needs.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of computer systems, including MRP software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, organization, and judgment.
- Understanding of materials management practices, such as stocking systems, Lean methods, transportation and traffic procedures, cycle counting, shelf-life handling, and MRP workflows.
- Self-driven attitude, practical approach, teamwork, and a hands-on working style.
- High attention to detail plus strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally in person, by phone, email, internet, and written correspondence.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 3 to 5 years of stockroom management experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience automating stockroom processes, such as barcoding.
- Preferred: familiarity with electronics manufacturing, electronic components, and packaging.
- Preferred: experience working with Lean programs.
- Preferred: exposure to ISO 9001/13485 standards.
- Preferred: APICS certification or a related degree.
- The role involves frequent hand use, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, speaking, hearing, and use of production equipment.
