Role Overview
This is a permanent, residential position based in Takoradi, Ghana, within the Logistics & Materials function at Tullow Oil. The role supports inventory control for Tullow Ghana-owned materials used across operating assets, with a strong emphasis on FPSO operations. It focuses on inventory strategy, stock optimisation, control, analysis, and reporting, all with a continuous improvement mindset.

Purpose of the Role
This position helps manage the financial control of material inventories owned by Tullow Ghana. The role must align with inventory accounting standards set by the Finance team, JV requirements, and warehouse procedures, while also developing and executing inventory approaches that support business needs.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert and main contact for inventory management within the Logistics & Materials team and for key stakeholders.
- Carry out ongoing analysis and refinement of stocking levels so they match business demand and inventory holding budget targets.
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy and completeness for all Inventory Master records.
- Oversee the Inventory Master scope within the Materials Master Request SharePoint process.
- Record, monitor, and ensure prompt processing of daily inventory movements, including receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments.
- Recommend stocking level changes and coordinate them with the business.
- Manage daily MRP reports and interpret the results to support replenishment decisions.
- Support the review, updating, development, and rollout of inventory management procedures and work processes for Tullow Ghana.
- Help coordinate the materials disposal process.
- Review excess material returns from work orders, turnarounds, and projects, and determine the appropriate next step for each item.
- Work with the warehouse team to run stock checks using the Maximo cycle-count process.
- Track warehouse and inventory KPIs and communicate performance progress.
- Support integration between Tullow Ghana Maximo and the existing SAP inventory system.
- Work with the Maximo administrator on the ongoing improvement of the Maximo system.
Experience and Education
A degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering is required.
Required Skills and Experience
- At least 5 years of proven inventory management experience, preferably in oil and gas or a similar sector.
- Strong analytical ability, numeracy, attention to detail, and a disciplined work ethic.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence leaders and stakeholders in a matrix environment.
- Practical experience with Maximo and/or SAP is an advantage.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Business Objects, Power BI, or similar reporting tools is beneficial.
- Prior experience in oil and gas or mining operations is an advantage.
- Understanding of equipment and materials used in the oil and gas industry is beneficial.
- Ability to handle several tasks at once and perform well under pressure.
- Comfort working in a multicultural environment.
