Lead Engineer - Qatar Executive

About the Role

This position is directly responsible for ensuring the airworthiness and serviceability of Qatar Executive (QE) aircraft, adhering to the highest standards of practice in line with QCAA regulations and QR standards and procedures to guarantee flight safety. The role involves ensuring timely completion of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities for assigned QE aircraft, maintaining the highest standards of maintenance, safety, productivity, and cost-effectiveness through optimal resource utilization.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and manage resources within the jurisdiction to achieve effective maintenance, ensuring adequate coverage for leave, training, sickness, and other absences to maintain optimum shift operations.
• Exercise license/approval for scheduled, unscheduled maintenance, and defect rectification, ensuring work meets required standards and operational program efficiency and safety. Record and issue Certificates of Release to Service for work completed according to TPM, QE, CPM, and other third-party procedures and legislation.
• Assess allocated work and resources for prompt defect rectification using assigned staff.
• Effectively manage the aircraft technical team.
• Be accountable for the overall performance of the supervised group.
• Inform the Maintenance Manager of any potential issues or concerns that could impact aircraft, particularly cabin system serviceability.
• Take responsibility for the final release of work, ensuring tasks meet QE standards and targets, including aircraft availability, system reliability, and acceptable deferred defect levels.
• Review work procedures, equipment, and standards to propose improvements for process effectiveness.
• Implement solutions for technical problems within the operational scope.
• Provide support to other QE departments in defining, developing, and preparing maintenance work packages.
• Ensure aircraft maintenance tasks are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on documenting all maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with OEMs, vendors, and suppliers to resolve defects or problems affecting aircraft operations.
• Train and develop employees to support succession planning and risk management.
• Perform other departmental duties as directed by the Head of the Department.
