Lunchtime Supervisor

Role overview

Parrett and Axe Primary School is looking for a Lunchtime Supervisor to help create a calm, safe, and supportive midday environment for pupils. This position plays an important part in making sure children enjoy a positive lunchtime routine and feel well cared for throughout the break.

What the role involves

In this role, you will support pupils in both the dining area and outdoor play spaces. Your day-to-day work will include assisting with meal service, promoting polite table behaviour, encouraging respectful interaction between children, and making sure the lunch setting stays orderly and secure.

You will also oversee children during playground time, helping to guide positive behaviour, nurture friendships, and maintain a safe and engaging atmosphere. Small acts of support, such as welcoming children warmly, helping younger pupils settle in, and encouraging healthy choices, all contribute to their wellbeing and school experience.

Working pattern

The position runs Monday to Friday from 12:00pm to 1:15pm, during term time only. The role covers 38 weeks each year.

Pay and start date

The annual salary is £3,510, with a pay award pending. The successful candidate is expected to begin as soon as possible after DBS clearance.
