About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a highly advanced biologics manufacturing site in County Kerry, Ireland. This role is crucial for supporting equipment performance, process optimization, and ongoing site expansion. The position requires daily technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing operations and equipment systems. You will collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to enhance equipment design, reliability, and overall performance. A key part of the role involves developing and maintaining technical procedures, guides, and training materials to support equipment operation and troubleshooting. You will lead technical problem-solving initiatives and support process improvement projects aimed at boosting quality, efficiency, and operational performance. Additionally, you will support validation activities by working with Validation teams to ensure manufacturing and testing readiness. The role also contributes to lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects across operations and engineering functions. You will provide support for aseptic filling and lyophilisation manufacturing processes and equipment, as well as troubleshooting for PLC and SCADA control systems. Commissioning, qualification, and validation activities will also be part of your responsibilities. You will assist in establishing operational best practices, procedures, and manufacturing standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Operations, Validation, and Engineering, is essential to meet manufacturing objectives. Ensuring compliance with GMP, health & safety, and site quality standards is paramount at all times.

Required Experience

Candidates must possess a degree qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Proven experience working within biologics, pharmaceutical, or regulated GMP manufacturing environments is essential. A strong capability in technical troubleshooting and problem-solving within manufacturing operations is required. Experience supporting aseptic filling and lyophilisation processes is preferred. You should have experience working with manufacturing equipment, process systems, and automation infrastructure. Exposure to PLC and SCADA systems within a manufacturing setting is necessary. Experience supporting validation, commissioning, or qualification activities is also required. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are needed, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
