Job Overview

The Microbiologist I role involves working independently on assigned microbiological projects and performing analyses on raw materials, finished products, and water samples. The position requires guided scientific work, strong documentation habits, familiarity with laboratory processes, and the ability to keep up with current microbiology literature and analytical standards.

Analytical work will be performed in line with USP, EP, ASTM, AOAC, FDA, EPA, client-specific procedures, and other non-routine methods as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the media and reagents needed for microbiological testing.
• Perform sample analysis using USP, EP, ASTM, AOAC, FDA, EPA, client-defined, and other applicable compendial or special procedures.
• Plan and prioritize testing so deadlines are met without compromising thoroughness or quality.
• Follow aseptic practices and lab disinfection protocols in accordance with SOPs.
• Maintain precise and timely records while consistently adhering to analytical standards and laboratory procedures.
• Carry out quality assurance duties such as environmental monitoring, media qualification, incubator checks, equipment calibration, and sterilization/maintenance activities.
• Use technical references as needed and record observations and results in notebooks and LIMS.
• Handle data entry, document copying, and routine communication tasks such as receiving and returning calls and exchanging information.
• Document all activities in compliance with cGMP requirements.
• Keep the work area organized and orderly.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related scientific field is required.
• 0 to 2 years of relevant experience is expected.
• Basic knowledge of scientific principles is necessary.

Compensation

The role offers an hourly pay range of USD 23.00 to USD 26.00.
