Positive Behaviour Implementation Coach

About the Role

The Department of Education and Training is seeking a dedicated Positive Behaviour Implementation Coach to join the Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Programs and Services team. This role is crucial in enhancing the capability of educators to foster student wellbeing, safety, and academic success within a Multi-tiered System of Support framework. The coach will be instrumental in implementing school-wide strategies and providing expert guidance, coaching, mentoring, and professional development to school leaders, teachers, and support staff. This position will focus on supporting school leaders with whole-school and whole-class interventions, collaborating with colleagues to develop and execute effective plans for students with diverse needs. The role is based in either Darwin or Katherine, Northern Territory, with the specific location to be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Build educator capability in supporting student wellbeing, safety, and educational outcomes.
• Implement whole-of-school approaches to positive behaviour support.
• Provide advice, coaching, and mentoring to school leaders, teachers, and support staff.
• Deliver professional development sessions on wellbeing, safety, and behaviour strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective support plans for students with diverse needs.
• Focus on whole-school and whole-class interventions.
