Role overview
Book of the Month is hiring a highly organized Product Analyst to support data delivery and reporting across the organization. The company’s user activity creates millions of records every day, and this role will help convert that data into decisions that move the business forward. You will act as the connection point between engineering and business teams, turning reporting needs into structured data products and keeping the reports used by the company accurate, organized, and current.
This position works across finance, supply chain, operations, growth marketing, product, editorial, and member experience.
What you’ll do
- Build custom Snowflake views using SQL to meet internal reporting requests.
- Review incoming reporting asks, prioritize them, and convert them into clear Jira tasks for engineering.
- Check data quality on engineering work before release.
- Run one-off data pulls to answer urgent business questions.
- Review existing reports for correctness and timeliness, retire outdated reports, and keep naming consistent across the reporting folder.
- Keep stakeholders updated proactively and create lightweight tools that improve visibility into the reporting roadmap.
- Write documentation on how to use internal datasets effectively and train teammates on best practices.
- Evaluate and suggest tools that could improve customer metric reporting and visualization.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to understand reporting priorities and execute the roadmap.
- Work with Product and Engineering so new features and experiments can be measured and reported properly.
- Bring reporting and infrastructure gaps to leadership and help define solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or analytical field.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in data or analytics.
- Strong SQL skills, including transforming processed data into reporting-ready datasets.
- Experience creating reports and dashboards in a BI platform.
- Exposure to Snowflake is preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with an interest in identifying patterns and relationships in data.
- Comfort working with cross-functional teams to plan and deliver data-driven projects.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- A craftsmanship mindset and a focus on improving the path from data to stakeholder insight.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $130,000 per year.
