About the Organisation
Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) is a non-governmental organisation and a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). It is recognised as a major provider of sexual and reproductive health education and services.
Job Summary
PPAG is seeking a driven and committed professional to support a new project delivered in partnership with the Japanese Organisation for International Co-operation in Family Planning (JOICFP) and the Ghana Health Service (GHS), with funding from the Government of Japan. The role is based in Kotoso, Kwahu East, and reports to the Middle Zonal Manager.
The main objective of the position is to coordinate and oversee the effective delivery of project activities under the JOICFP/PPAG/GHS initiative. The assignment is for a two-year project duration.
Key Duties
- Oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of project activities.
- Build and sustain working relationships with district-level stakeholders.
- Assess sexual and reproductive health needs in the project area and introduce practical, innovative responses.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and other project reports according to the reporting timetable.
- Ensure that all financial returns and programme reports are completed and submitted on time, including monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual submissions.
- Maintain an accurate record of assets and commodities in the project area.
- Use project funds and resources efficiently and responsibly.
- Coordinate training for community volunteers, including peer educators and CBS agents.
- Supervise staff working within the project area.
- Review and appraise the performance of subordinate staff.
- Support project team members in preparing work plans.
- Assist with the preparation of the Zonal APB.
- Develop quarterly implementation forecasts.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
Applicants should hold a first degree in the Sciences or Social Sciences/Psychology and have at least five years of relevant experience in a similar role. A second degree will be considered an added advantage.
Candidates are expected to have strong knowledge of reproductive and sexual health and related issues, advanced computer skills, and a high level of responsibility, accuracy and sound judgement. The role also calls for the ability to work under pressure and for extended hours, along with innovative, proactive and goal-focused thinking.
Strong analytical ability, effective communication skills, a youth-friendly attitude, the capacity to work with minimal supervision, and the flexibility to travel at short notice are also required.
