Job overview
This role is for a meticulous QA Tester / Test Analyst based in New Zealand. The position focuses on planning, running, and recording testing work to help ensure software products and systems are dependable, accurate, and perform well. It calls for someone who can think critically, investigate issues thoroughly, and support the delivery of strong software outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Create, refine, and carry out test plans, test scenarios, and test scripts.
- Complete functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Spot software defects, record them clearly, and follow them through to closure.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other project stakeholders to confirm requirements and resolve issues.
- Review system requirements and shape suitable testing approaches.
- Retest fixes and confirm that problems are resolved before release.
- Prepare testing updates and share progress with relevant stakeholders.
- Support release activities and verify systems after deployment.
- Help improve QA practices and testing methods over time.
- Contribute to automation testing efforts where relevant.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Prior exposure to software testing, quality assurance, or test analysis is an advantage.
- Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Hands-on experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively on your own as well as within a team.
- Legal permission to work in New Zealand.
