ജോലി വിവരണം

Role overview

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its Advisory and Programme Delivery team in Ireland. This position is based in Cork or Dublin and supports commercial management across clean water, wastewater, and environmental projects. You will report to a Senior Quantity Surveyor and work within a core team, collaborating with wider project and programme management colleagues to help deliver client outcomes on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.

The organisation is an employee-owned global engineering, management, and development consultancy with a large international footprint. The Ireland APD team is growing across Belfast, Dublin, Cork, and Galway, and the business is looking to expand its capability in project and commercial roles.

Key duties

  • Manage the commercial aspects of one project or several projects.
  • Track budgets and produce month-end reporting covering actuals, monthly fluctuations, accruals, and yearly variances.
  • Monitor project risks and prepare relevant reports.
  • Support dispute prevention and resolution.
  • Provide advice on commercial strategy.
  • Review subcontractor submissions and make recommendations on acceptance.
  • Assess compensation events.
  • Review monthly payment applications.
  • Carry out commercial audits.
  • Guide and support junior team members.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant will be degree qualified and either professionally chartered as a QS or working toward MRICS status, with a clear commitment to continuing professional development. Experience in cost planning and delivery within a cost consultancy or multidisciplinary environment is preferred, along with exposure to contract administration, cost estimating, and NEC contracts. Background in water, environmental, or other regulated sectors would also be an advantage.

You should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a larger team. Strong IT skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required, together with excellent communication skills for reporting and presentations. The role also calls for strong relationship-building skills with clients, stakeholders, colleagues, and supply-chain partners, a flexible attitude, and willingness to travel to client sites and other Mott MacDonald offices.
