Role Overview
The Relationship Manager will work within the Partnership Distribution setup for DBS LVB and will be based in Gurugram. The role involves managing multiple branches, clusters, or regions depending on business requirements. The position reports to the Cluster Manager and does not include any direct supervisory responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
The role is centered on branch-level sales execution, partner coordination, and customer servicing. The Relationship Manager will work closely with bank branch teams and partner staff to drive insurance business, support application logging, and ensure smooth policy issuance and post-sales service.
- Visit assigned partner branches regularly and coordinate with branch managers and sales personnel in line with operating guidelines.
- Explain products and solutions to customers and support them through the documentation process.
- Deliver assigned sales targets across all defined parameters and help branches achieve insurance business goals.
- Work with the branch manager or sales partner to execute the business plan.
- Motivate branch staff and bank sales partners, and assist with applications sourced from the branch.
- Use the right branch database, ensure documents are genuine, and maintain data discipline.
- Build strong working relationships with bank sales and operations teams to meet productivity and business goals.
- Prospect and meet customers inside and outside the branch when needed.
- Create and implement short-term and long-term action plans to meet sales objectives.
- Drive activation targets for the relationship manager role at the branch level.
- Conduct joint sales calls with bank sales and operations teams to improve business outcomes.
- Secure partner commitment toward achieving the business plan and maintain effective communication with the channel partner.
- Support all marketing activities required by the partner.
- Ensure timely policy issuance and help close pending cases or issues.
- Follow customer engagement standards and maintain service quality.
- Handle escalations related to sales and service deliverables.
- Maintain persistency and provide prompt after-sales support across all relevant areas.
- Work closely with the sales partner on execution of the business plan.
- Track competition at the branch level.
- Follow all business, process, and compliance requirements set by the bank and Tata AIA.
- Maintain branch-level MIS and share reports with the supervisor as required.
- Follow the training roadmap and adhere to the Tata AIA code of conduct.
Performance Areas
The role is expected to deliver business targets linked to WNBP, product mix, case count, active branches, active sales staff, and other KPIs for the assigned branches.
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate should bring strong product understanding, commercial planning ability, insurance or financial services awareness, self-discipline, and problem-solving capability. The role also needs strong coordination, influencing ability, communication, teamwork, decision-making, relationship management, and leadership potential. English and the local language are both important for day-to-day work.
Eligibility and Experience
Applicants should be graduates. A postgraduate qualification is preferred but not required. The company is looking for candidates with 2 to 4 years of work experience in insurance or financial services; experience with a public sector bank partner is considered an advantage.
