ജോലി വിവരണം
Role overview
The organisation is looking for a Teaching Assistant who will combine classroom support with pastoral mentoring. The position is designed for someone who can help deliver engaging learning, support pupils with a range of needs, and contribute to a welcoming, inclusive school culture. Alongside academic support, the role includes helping with students’ emotional wellbeing, monitoring how they are doing, and building positive relationships that encourage personal growth.
About the employer
The school group is part of a wider education organisation that aims to innovate, influence, and inspire through purposeful teaching and training. Its network includes 13 independent, OFSTED-regulated schools across England, focused on supportive education for students aged 11 to 16 in Key Stages 3 and 4. The model is intended to help young people progress either back into mainstream education or toward further education, work-based learning, or employment.
What the role involves
- Support teachers in delivering lessons that are engaging and well structured.
- Work with learners who may have additional or special educational needs.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom atmosphere.
- Provide pastoral guidance and emotional encouragement where needed.
- Keep track of student wellbeing and help strengthen supportive relationships.
- Assist pupils in developing confidence, ambition, and positive habits.
Benefits and support
The role comes with a wellbeing-focused package that includes discounted gym memberships, access to a free wellbeing app with fitness, yoga, and mindfulness content, and counselling support. Efforts are also made to reduce unnecessary admin so staff can focus more on pupils. Additional leave arrangements are included, such as generous holiday entitlement, extra leave for foster carers, and flexibility where possible.
- Support for professional qualifications and in-house training, including paid qualifications.
- Approximate investment of £3.5k per colleague in professional development last year.
- Death in Service Insurance worth four times salary.
- Enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
- Medicash health cash plan for the employee and dependants, covering eye tests, optical, dental, prescriptions, and holistic treatments up to £900 per year.
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual recognition awards.
- £500 referral bonus for recommending successful candidates.
- Access to MiRewards, providing discounts and rewards.
- Weekly drop-ins with senior leaders, including the Managing Director and organisation SLT.
- Annual group conference and a full benefits review.
Eligibility and requirements
Applicants should be able to connect with learners and support their aspirations, and should be genuinely committed to making a positive difference in young people’s lives. Experience in an educational environment, or something comparable, is expected. A working understanding of alternative provision and support for students with special needs is also important. Strong professional communication is required, along with a clear commitment to equality, diversity, safeguarding, wellbeing, and British values.
Qualification requirement
GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or 4 and above, or an equivalent qualification, are required.
