Role Overview

The chosen candidate will support roadway signing and traffic control activities. This position includes on-the-job training and is suited to someone who is dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working in an active outdoor setting.

Responsibilities

• Place and upkeep traffic control equipment around active work sites
• Monitor traffic control setups throughout the project and keep equipment in the correct position and working order
• Install pre-made directional and informational signs by lifting, positioning, and securing them to supporting structures
• Follow plans to accurately mark locations, set posts, and place signs
• Assist with related signing work such as delineators, pavement striping, striping removal, reflective pavement markers, lane closures, and detours
• Maintain, service, and repair traffic devices and related equipment when needed

Requirements

• Consistent attendance and punctuality are required
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite is necessary
• Must be able to work outdoors in both hot and cold weather conditions
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds
• Must clear a pre-employment drug test
• A valid driver’s license is required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred, though not mandatory
• Traffic Control Technician or Traffic Control Supervisor training is an advantage, but training can also be provided after joining
