Role overview
The School Performance Review Analyst carries out advanced research and evaluation work focused on the academic, financial, and operational performance of school districts. This role involves examining data, speaking with district staff, observing how schools operate, and producing well-structured reports with conclusions and practical recommendations. The goal is to help districts stay aligned with state and federal rules, use resources more effectively, and make better decisions.
The role may also include planning, assigning, and supervising other team members’ work. Travel is part of the job and will depend on the project.
This position reports to the School Performance Review Manager and is performed under general supervision, with room for independent judgment and initiative.
Compensation note

Key responsibilities
- Assess district programs and operations to spot inefficiencies, compliance issues, and gaps against established best practices.
- Work with both numerical and descriptive data to identify trends and performance shortfalls.
- Conduct interviews with school district staff to understand how programs and operations function.
- Draft objective, concise reports that summarize findings and recommend improvements that can drive cost savings and operational gains.
- Share findings and reports with legislative audiences and members of the public.
- Gather information from different sources, interpret data independently, and prepare recommendations in a format suitable for varied audiences.
- Use knowledge of local, state, and federal education-related laws and regulations while reviewing district activities.
- Support agency initiatives and handle other related assignments as needed.
