Clinical Support Intern

About the Role

The selected intern will engage in multiple interrelated programs covering hospital-based care for the elderly and children, community memory screening initiatives, and dementia education efforts. Key functions include providing psychosocial counseling and emotional assistance to patients at partner hospitals, particularly within neurology, psychiatry, geriatrics, and nephrology wards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group support sessions to help patients and families cope with anxiety, confusion, isolation, and illness adaptation.
• Assist patients and their families in comprehending diagnoses, treatment plans, and welfare resources.
• Conduct neuropsychological assessments and physical performance tests at diverse locations like hospitals and community centers while adhering strictly to standardized protocols.
• Lead culturally sensitive therapy sessions to stimulate autobiographical memory, alleviate depression, boost mood, and encourage social interaction.
• Organize and deliver dementia awareness workshops in Telugu for local community groups and coordinate with healthcare facility staff to plan and confirm sessions.

Candidate Requirements

• Recent master's degree in psychology, clinical psychology, counseling, neuropsychology or related disciplines, with experience in cognitive testing preferred.
• Degrees in allied health fields such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social work, nursing, gerontology, public health, pharmacy, or community health are also acceptable.
• Basic knowledge of neuropsychological test tools is advantageous; training will be provided.
• Experience or knowledge of therapeutic approaches through formal education or practical exposure is highly regarded.
• Strong comfort level working with vulnerable groups in clinical and community contexts.
• High attention to detail and strict compliance with assessment protocols, with immediate reporting of any deviations.
• Patient, empathetic, and warm interpersonal skills essential to establish trust with elderly participants.
• Physical capability to perform field assessments including mobility tests in varied settings.
• Well-organized, disciplined, punctual, and able to maintain professional behavior in sensitive healthcare environments.

Additional Information

• Stipend range: ₹11,000 to ₹15,000 per month, comprising a fixed component of ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 and an incentive portion between ₹1,000 and ₹3,000 monthly.
• An official certificate and letter of recommendation will be provided upon completion.
• The internship follows a Monday to Friday workweek and includes complimentary snacks and beverages.

Eligibility

Applicants must be available for a full-time in-office internship starting between July 31 and September 4, 2026, with a commitment of six months. Individuals with relevant skills and interests, including women seeking to launch or resume their careers, are encouraged to apply.
