Role Overview

The Cloud Solutions Architect will design, build, and guide secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments on Google Cloud Platform. This position supports organizations as they move, modernize, and improve workloads in the cloud, while also helping establish strong cloud foundations and enabling reliable DevOps-driven delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Create complete cloud architecture solutions on GCP for enterprise systems and cloud-native applications.
• Lead migrations from on-premise environments or other cloud providers into Google Cloud using proven migration methods.
• Define DevOps and platform engineering approaches, including CI/CD, automation for infrastructure, and release processes.
• Plan migration strategies such as rehost, replatform, refactor, rebuild, and replace.
• Design cloud landing zones that satisfy security, governance, and compliance needs.
• Develop scalable and dependable infrastructure using services such as Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, GKE, and Cloud Run.
• Run migration assessments, including application discovery, dependency analysis, and planning migration waves.
• Work closely with engineering teams to introduce Infrastructure-as-Code with tools like Terraform.
• Support operational readiness through strong monitoring, logging, and reliability practices.
• Offer architecture direction and technical leadership across migration and modernization initiatives.
• Contribute to pre-sales work, including architecture workshops and technical proposal preparation.
• Help build internal capabilities through reusable patterns, best practices, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or cloud consulting.
• Solid hands-on experience designing solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
• Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification.
• Background in leading enterprise workload migrations to public cloud platforms.
• Practical experience with DevOps methods, including CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
• Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure components such as compute, storage, networking, and identity.
• Experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, with GKE as a preferred option.
• Ability to implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or similar tooling.
• Strong grasp of cloud networking, including VPC architecture, hybrid connectivity, and security controls.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain architecture to both technical and business audiences.
• Preferred background includes DR-focused network architecture, replication methods, core infrastructure services like AD, DNS, DHCP, and ADFS, infrastructure discovery tools, FinOps, DevSecOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, Oracle/SAP databases, AWS or Azure architecture certifications, compliance frameworks such as NCA, SAMA, and ISO 27001, consulting experience, observability platforms, and application modernization.

Additional Information

This is a senior-level position within Devoteam’s Google Cloud business unit. The role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is structured as a full-time onsite opportunity.
