Overview
This position sits within Scotiabank’s inclusive, results-focused culture and supports the operational governance of modern data platforms. The role is centered on gathering needs from multiple stakeholders, helping apply data management practices, and contributing to platform management capabilities that enable better data-driven decisions. It also involves close coordination with different tenant teams and participation in a variety of initiatives tied to data platform operations.
What you’ll do
- Analyze data platform activity to spot trends, patterns, and anomalies, then recommend improvements based on findings gathered from multiple data sources.
- Prepare visual summaries and presentation materials for internal audiences.
- Work with end users and key stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into delivery needs for data platform management features.
- Support automation and process-improvement requests by partnering with the development team on design ideas and solution feedback.
- Verify that platform management features are implemented properly by collaborating with development and testing teams.
- Operate in an Agile environment to help speed up delivery of governance and management capabilities for the data platform.
- Present product capabilities and updates during sprint reviews and other stakeholder sessions.
- Assist users with onboarding and respond to questions related to platform management features.
- Create, update, and maintain user-facing documentation with support from other team members.
Experience and technical background
The role calls for strong experience in data platforms, platform monitoring, big data tools, analytics, and stakeholder communication. A completed degree in a relevant discipline is required, along with industry experience in data-focused environments. Familiarity with documentation, process optimization, Agile delivery, relational databases, collaboration tools, and Databricks will strengthen an application. Spanish fluency for work-related communication is considered an advantage.
